About the Instructor: Dr. Alex Gometz, DPT, CIC
Lead Clinical Director & Concussion Specialist
Dr. Alex Gometz is a head injury specialist and physical therapist with extensive clinical expertise in concussion evaluation, treatment, and sports injury prevention.
Clinical Background & Credentials
- Specialized Expertise: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Certified Impact Consultant (CIC) specializing in concussion management, vestibular rehabilitation, and sports-related head injuries.
- Research Leadership: Collaborates with the Mount Sinai Neurosurgery Department on concussion and injury prevention research. Co-author of numerous medical journal publications, including studies featured in Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, the Journal of Neurosurgery, and the Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine.
- Founder & Practice Leader: Founder of Concussion Management of New York as well as Prehab, providing injury prevention, evaluation, and holistic rehabilitation services.

To start I just want to give my biggest thank you to Dr. Gometz and the team for helping me get back to my normal self. The curriculum is developed by Concussion Management of New York and led by Dr. Alex Gometz, DPT, CIC, utilizing evidence-based clinical protocols and ongoing research collaborations (including Mount Sinai Neurosurgery). Certifications are valid for one calendar year, with quick online annual updates available to keep your credentials active.
Once you pass the digital assessment, your digital certificate is automatically generated for download. You will also receive an official CMofNY concussion certified coach digital badge that you can add directly to your LinkedIn profile under Licenses & Certifications, as well as your website bio or email signature.
