Escalating trend in sports concussions

Escalating trend in documented concussions due to improvements in the detection and clinical management of concussion says the NCAA. Concussion rates in football had been escalating over a 21-year period beginning in the early 1980s. But the trend stabilized in recent years, becoming relatively flat from 2004-12. NCAA Director of Health and Safety David Klossner said the reasons for the previous escalating trend are not well documented but could be due to multiple factors, including improvements in the detection and clinical management of concussion. Dr. Cantu also made a very important point about girls secocr and the neck strength, i.e., the girls necks are too weak to absorb perturbation .strengthen the neck in any sport where ..the neck is on the line . all levels of football, hockey, secocr, wrestling, all contact or semi contact sport training should include the 42 muscles that control the neck.

Robert our son was hit by a car in 1981. He had a closed had ijruny which left him with a disability. Here lately he has started having outbust to the point that he has cursed hid Dadso bad that he wants me to put him away.I have worked with Robert from day one and I feel helpless at this point.Giving up on him is not an option for me.Please Doctor Amen any advice that you can give me would be greatly appeciated.Thank you Tracey
